Bio

Rosalind Osgood was elected to the Senate on March 8, 2022, and has been reelected subsequently. Her public service includes serving on the Broward County School Board from 2012 to 2022.

She has received several honors, including the Alpha Kappa Alpha South Atlantic Region Family Strengthening Award in 2018, recognition as the first female chaplain for the City of Fort Lauderdale Police Department in 2013, and the JM Family African American Achievers Award in 2009.

She is affiliated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Zeta Rho Omega Chapter, and the Fort Lauderdale (FL) Chapter of Links, Incorporated.

She is the Chief Executive Officer and has three children- Shennette, Anthony, and Gabriel-as well as two grandchildren, Kyla and Gabriel.

She attended Florida A&M University, where she was a member of the Rattlerette Basketball Team from 1983 to 1985. She later earned a bachelor's degree in 1996, a master's degree in 1997, and a Doctor of Public Administration (DPA) in 2002 from Nova Southeastern University. Additionally, she earned a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010.

Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she is Baptist and enjoys reading, writing, traveling, and basketball.
