In January 2011, Representative Darlene Taylor was sworn into office and began serving as the House District 173 Representative in the Georgia General Assembly. Her District comprises most of Grady and Thomas Counties.

Rep. Darlene Taylor is a remarkable lady, wife to John, a mother to two accomplished adult sons, and grandmother in addition to being both a seasoned Legislator and C.E.O. of a TPA she founded. Darlene is known at the Capitol and local for her graciousness however, when the situation calls for it, - she is a fierce but fair legislator. Darlene is well known for her advocacy for all rural South Georgia, and especially for her constituents. She is Pro-Life, has a strong voice for healthcare & public health, small Business including Agribusiness, education, conservation of natural resources, and non-profit organizations. Rep. Taylor supports our Veterans, local governments, and is for local control. All these dynamic dimensions have well positioned her to be an astute Chairwoman who serves with distinction on a diverse group of legislative committees.
