Bio

State Representative Jim Lucas is a proud Seymour resident where he lives with his wife, Lynn, of 18 years. He is a father of three children, Suzanne, jack and Madeline. Rep. Lucas serves House District 69, which covers portions of Bartholomew, Jackson, Jennings and Jefferson counties.

Prior to being elected to the General assembly, Rep. Lucas served on the Seymour City Council. He also owns a local small business, The Awning guy, Inc. Rep. Lucas is active in the community. He is a member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association and Gun Owners of America.

Here at the Statehouse, Rep. Lucas is a member of Public Policy, Education and Environmental Affairs committees. As a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and a small business owner, he brings valuable experience to policy discussions. His biggest priorities in the legislature are jobs, fiscal integrity and education.
