DISTRICT

State Rep. Brad Jacobsen was elected in November 2010 to his first term in the Michigan House to represent residents of northern Oakland County including Oxford, Orion, Addison, Brandon, Groveland, Rose and Holly townships and the villages of Oxford, Lake Orion, Leonard, Ortonville and Holly.

EDUCATION

Jacobsen received his bachelor's degree in social economic policy from James Madison College at Michigan State University.

PROFESSIONAL

Jacobsen is vice president of Jacobsen's Flowers. The family-run company, founded by his great grandfather in 1920, currently has three locations. He has also served as an Oakland County Commissioner, Oxford Township trustee, past chair of the Lake Orion Downtown Development Authority, and was a member of the Oxford Emergency Safety Authority.

PERSONAL

Jacobsen was raised in Oxford, where he still lives. He and his wife Teri have three children, and they attend the Oxford United Methodist Church. Jacobsen is also an active member of the Oxford Rotary and the local Elks and Eagles clubs.
