BioState Representative Ron Young is serving in his second consecutive term at the Ohio House of Representatives, having previously served from 1997 through 2004. He represents the 61st House District in eastern portions of Lake County.Representative Young served in the United States Army for three years. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Kent State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He taught in the public school system after earning his Certificate in Education from Cleveland State University. In 1981, Representative Young founded Technical Employment Services Inc. (TES), which focuses on Engineering, Scientific and Industrial segment job placement. TES clients range from rapidly growing smaller companies to some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 firms. In 2008, TES earned the “Fast Track 50” award from Lakeland Community College and was the recipient of the prestigious “Weatherhead 100 Award” from Case Western Reverse University’s School of Management in recognition of the firm’s success. Representative Young has sponsored and passed critical legislative initiatives and is known as a skilled advocate for business and economic growth. He and his wife, Kathy, have been married since 1974 and presently reside in Leroy Township. They have five daughters and one grandchild.
