Biography In 2014, Ben was appointed to the Peoria City Council in a nearly unanimous vote (5 to 1). Through their vote, every councilman demonstrated their confidence in Ben as the best candidate for the job. Ben Toma is committed to education, a safe family environment, a balanced budget and the preservation of the natural beauty of Northern Peoria.

Since his appointment, Ben has voted to lower the city's sales tax, protect property rights and improve public safety.
