Bio

State Representative Mandisha Thomas represents the citizens of House District 65, which includes portions of Fulton and Douglas counties. She was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 2020, and she currently serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Industry and Labor and Information and Audits committees.

As a 15-year resident, business owner and healthcare industry expert, she has become well-known to community residents and has long worked on programs to better her community. Her public service has brought attention and yielded results for economic development and environmental justice issues, the need for access to quality health care providers and mental health services and other vital matters.

Rep. Thomas's political experience originally began working on U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's campaign for the California General Assembly. This experienced allowed her to share her expertise with others seeking to serve in elected office. In 2018 and 2019, she served as a legislative aide for the Georgia General Assembly and was also a key team member behind the South Fulton's cityhood efforts. She gained an appreciation for leaders that stayed connected to their constituents and was an active presence at community meetings before she took office. Since she was first elected, she has remained connected and engaged with her constituents.

She is the founder of the Georgia Environmental Justice Education and Awareness Symposium, the Apple Day Mobile Unit Health Fair of Georgia and the 2021 Intellectual Summit of South Fulton County. Rep. Thomas also has served on the boards of several organizations, including Market 166 Co-Op and Grocery Kitchen, Meadow Glen Subdivision and the South Fulton Food Policy Council. She is also an active member of South Fulton's Cliftondale Community Club and a post-seat holder for the Fulton County Democratic Party.

Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration in Political Science from Grambling State University and a Master of Business Administration from Central Michigan University.
