Originally from Texas, John and his family moved to Machesney Park at a very young age. He attended and graduated from Harlem High School in Machesney Park. John began serving his community by becoming a police officer for South Beloit and later transferring to Rockford where he became a detective. John has served almost 20 years as a police officer and is currently on a leave of absence from the Rockford Police Department. John previously served as a Winnebago County Board member for District 8 and currently works part-time for Stewart & Associates.
