Indianapolis, IN 46204 BIO- State Rep. Karen Engleman of Georgetown has served in the Indiana House of Representative since 2016 and represents House District 70, which includes most of Harrison County and portions of Clark and Floyd counties. She serves Government and Regulatory Reform, Local Government, Judiciary, Select Committee on Government Reduction, and Statutory Committee on Ethics. Engleman is also a member of the Indiana House Republican leadership team as the assistant majority caucus chair.

In 2018, Governing Magazine honored Engleman as a Public Official of the Year for her legislative efforts on sexual harassment prevention. She authored a law requiring at least one hour of annual sexual harassment training for all members of the Indiana General Assembly.

Before elected to the legislature in 2016, Engleman served three terms as Harrison County Auditor and spent seven years as Crandall Town Clerk-Treasurer. She and her husband, Gary, have five children and 10 grandchildren. She is a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and the Corydon Rotary Club.
