BioMarried to Rhonda Nelson Pylant Farming - Cattle and Row Crop Steve Pylant announced earlier this year that he would retire from law enforcement when his fourth term as Franklin Parish Sheriff ended next June. The 28-year law enforcement veteran and lifelong resident of Franklin Parish has served in that capacity since 1996, and his proven record of financial responsibility is something desperately needed in state government. Steve’s accomplishments as sheriff are the cornerstone of more efficient government. Through fiscal discipline and common sense thinking, Steve increased revenues for his department and, at the same me, reduced the burden on the local taxpayers. During his tenure, Steve actually gave back a property tax and a half-cent sales tax to the taxpayers of Franklin Parish! Returning tax money to the taxpayers is unheard of in Louisiana, but it certainly resonates with the citizens of District 20. The people of this district will benefit from Steve’s outstanding record of public service and unique approach to government. In this important election, Steve brings to the table both common sense and a conservative approach. He also brings a proven record of accomplishment as a public servant.
