Bio

Mick Mulvaney was elected in November, 2010, as the new US Congressman for South Carolina’s 5th District. A lifelong Carolinas resident, Mick went to high school at Charlotte Catholic. After high school, Mick attended Georgetown University where he received a degree in International Economics, Commerce, and Finance and graduated as an Honor Scholar – the highest award given to students of the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.

After college, Mick attended law school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full academic scholarship. He graduated with a focus on anti-trust law and went to work at a firm in Charlotte for several years before starting his own practice.

Mick and Pam were married in 1998, and are the proud parents of triplets. Shortly after the triplets were born, Mick joined the family homebuilding and real estate business. While there, he completed the Owners and Presidents Management Program at Harvard Business School.

He has been active locally, as a founding member of the Indian Land Rotary, a youth baseball coach for Lancaster County Parks & Rec, a Board member at Springs Memorial Hospital, a member of the Board of Visitors at USC-Lancaster, a member of the Fort Mill Area Chamber of Commerce, and a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church and founding member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Mission.

In the 112th Congress, Mick's focus is on jobs, business and the economy. He has been named to the House Budget Committee and the Joint House/Senate Economic Committee. Additionally, he has been appointed chairman of the Small Business Committee's subcommittee on Contracting and Workforce. The House Republican Conference Policy Committee has also tapped him as the chair or its Financial Services Task Force.
