Our community has been blessed with strong conservative leadership from Dolores Gresham, Barrett Rich, and Leigh Wilburn" stated Gant. "I'm running for the State House to continue this tradition of conservative leadership that represents the values of our community" he said.

Gant is a conservative Republican and small business owner. He supports the Second Amendment and the right to life. He is an avid proponent of small government and local control of public schools.

Under Tennessee law, the Fayette County commission will appoint a replacement to fill the balance of Rep. Wilburn's term. Gant will not seek the appointment. "I believe the county commission should appoint someone who pledges not to seek election to a full term. No candidate should be handed an unfair advantage over other candidates. The voters of Fayette, Hardeman, and McNairy counties should elect our new State Representative in the 2016 elections" remarked Gant.

Gant, 44, is married to Karen Gant, a veterinarian. They have two children and reside in the Rossville area. Gant is President of Insurance Associates of Tennessee, Inc. He serves as Chairman of the Rossville Christian Academy school board and Vice Chairman of the Fayette County Carl Perkins Center for abused children. A former member of the Fayette County Board of Commissioners, Gant is an avid hunter and fisherman. The Gants are members of First Baptist Church Fisherville.
