Bio

Lee has served as the Representative to Wisconsin's 57th Assembly District since her election in November of 2020. Lee immediately stepped up as the chair of the freshman caucus and the Legislative LGBTQ caucus. She was elected into leadership as minority caucus Sergeant At Arms in January 2022.

In the legislature Lee has authored or co-authored a number of bills including bills to expand voter access and education, a comprehensive pollinator protection package, equality legislation, and bills to support Wisconsin's forestry, pulp and paper industry. Lee is a co-sponsor of bills reducing prescription drug costs, addressing infant-maternal health outcomes, supporting labor unions, and supporting small business growth in Wisconsin. Lee is defiantly pro-choice and will continue to use her position to restore access to safe, legal abortion in WI. Her priorities are ensuring that Wisconsin is a place where every citizen has equal opportunity to be safe, healthy and thrive.

Lee has made the Fox Valley her home since 1995 where she resides in Appleton along the banks of the Fox River. Prior to her role in the state legislature, Lee was a marketing and communications professional. She began her career at the former Fox River Paper Company(now Neenah Paper), following in her father's footsteps into the paper industry. Lee's professional experience has spanned from private industry, independent consulting, to her most recent role in the non-profit sector working as the Director of Communications for Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes. Her work through the Girl Scouts provided the opportunity for service that align with her strong commitment to female empowerment through life changing experiences. Lee's values of engagement in the process and service to others are part of how she was raised, and how she raised her own children. She believes that when we invest in providing access to tools, resources, and opportunities for people to succeed we all benefit from this collective success.

Lee has two children who motivate her to change the world. Her son is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her daughter is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and resides in Saint Paul. Lee is a vocal advocate for outdoor recreation and in rare free moments, she can be found bicycling, hiking local trails, running near the river, or enjoying local, live music.
