BioRepresentative Jimmy Pruett is a legislator serving House District 144, which includes thecounties of Dodge, Bleckley,and Wilcox as well as portions of Ben Hill and Pulaski counties. Representative Pruett is a former Administration Floor Leader to Governor Perdue. Jimmy is a business man who lives in Dodge County. He started his first business in 1974 and has been instrumental in establishing other businesses. Mr. Pruett is actively involved in industry recruitment for the local community and his efforts have been signigicant in bringing companies to this area of Georgia. Representative Pruett has served in many capacities including the Small Business Advisory Committee for the U.S. Senate and the Rural Economic Development Commission. Locally he has served on the Advisory Board of the Heart of Georgia Technical School, Heart of Georgia Airport Authority, the Hospital Authority, and the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank and Trust Company. His community and professional involvement includes serving on the Eastman-Dodge County Chamber of Commerce for 12 years, two years as Vice-President of Membership Committee and six years as a Chamber Director, membership in the Conditioned Air Association of Georgia, the Eastman Dodge Historical Society, and actively supporting the American Cancer Society. Mr. Pruett was in the Georgia Army National Guard and graduated from Georgia Military Institute as a Commissioned Officer. He was instrumental in implementing the State Approved Educational Apprenticeship Program and traveled throughout Georgia promoting the program. As a family man who grew up in Eastman, Mr. Pruett is a firm believer in family values and that these values should overflow into our community, business, and political endeavors
