Bio

Senator Ronald Ramsey, Sr., a Democrat, was first elect-ed to the Georgia Senate from the 43rd District in 2006.

He represents citizens in portions of Dekalb, Newton and Rockdale counties.

Sen. Ramsey serves on a number of influential committees, including his position as Chairman of the Urban Affairs Committee and is a member of the Insurance and Labor, Judiciary Non-Civil and Special Judiciary.

Sen. Ramsey has a successful career as a federal govern-ment investigator and attorney. He also served as a munici-pal court judge in Stone Mountain for seven consecu-tive terms.

In 1992, Sen. Ramsey earned his J.D. after first graduat-ing with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1981.

Sen. Ramsey lives in Decatur with his wife, Doris, and their two children, Ronald, Jr. and Christyn.
