BioRichard "Rick" Ward, III, is a candidate for State Senator of District 17, a new district that encompasses parts of St. Martin, Assumption, East Feliciana, northern East Baton Rouge, St. Helena, Iberville, West Baton Rouge, and Point Coupe parishes. The election to fill the seat will be held at regularly scheduled elections this fall.Ward is a lifelong resident of District 17. He grew up in Livonia and is now a resident of Maringouin. He is a graduate of Bethany Christian School in Baker, Louisiana. He earned a Bachelor's Degree from LSU and his law degree from Southern University Law Center. He is currently a practicing attorney in Port Allen, Louisiana. Ward is married to Dawn White Ward of Baker and the couple has two children, Reese, 4, and Hayes, 1. "Rick" Ward is active as a hunter and fisherman. He and his family regularly attend Bethany World Prayer Center. Ward strongly supports conservative values.
