Bio

Rosa Underwood Gill is a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly. She was appointed to represent the 33rd House District - Wake County, by the former Governor Beverly Perdue in June 2009 after Representative Dan Blue, Jr. was appointed to complete the unexpired term of the late Senator Vernon Malone. She is currently serving her third two-year term as a representative. Representative Rosa Gill, a lifelong resident of Wake County, was born and grew up in rural Western Wake County in a family of thirteen siblings. She knows and understands the value of family, faith, hard work, service and education. She is a product of the Wake County Public School System and a graduate of Shaw University. Rosa is a retired state employee (23 years as an educator and 10 years as the Director of Traffic Records with the Division of Motor Vehicles). She taught mathematics at Garner High School and Enloe Magnet High School.
