Bio

Brenden Jones is a Columbus County native and graduate of Waccamaw Academy in Whiteville. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Angela, for over 20 years. They live in Tabor City with their two daughters. Brenden has owned and operated small businesses in Columbus County for over 15 years. After high school he attended Fayetteville Technical Community College, graduating with a degree in Mortuary Science. After a one-year apprenticeship in Greenville, N.C. he became a licensed funeral director, the youngest in North Carolina at that time. He went on to work for the nation's largest manufactured home company, becoming the youngest general manager in the company's history. Brenden returned home to Tabor City in the late 1990's to take over the family business, where he is now responsible for day-to-day operations. Since then the company has expanded operations and is now the oldest pre-owned dealership in Columbus County. In 2012 Brenden also started an auto body repair facility. Brenden is a member of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation's leading small business advocate. In addition to his professional activities, Brenden is a past member of the Columbus County Board of Elections and served as the board's chairman. Additionally, Brenden was appointed to the Rural Center board by Lt. Governor Dan Forest, where he served on the transition team after the center's reorganization. Brenden serves on the Tabor City Committee of 100, the board of the Cape Fear Council of the Boy Scouts of America, as a member of the Columbus County Jobs Foundation (formerly the Committee of 100) and the Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees. Brenden is an active member of Tabor City Baptist Church, where he has served as a Deacon, Chairman of the Building and Grounds Committee and three terms on the Finance Committee.
