Bio

Senator David (Dave) Craven represents Randolph and a portion of Guilford counties in District 26. He was elected in 2020 and is the youngest serving member of the North Carolina Senate. He currently serves on the following Senate committees- Agriculture, Energy, and Environment; Appropriations on Education/Higher Education; Commerce and Insurance; Education/Higher Education; Finance; and the State and Local Government Committee. He is also a member of the Joint Legislative Economic Development and Global Engagement Oversight Committee, Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on Information Technology, Joint Legislative Commission on Energy Policy, and Joint Legislative Oversight Committee on the North Carolina State Lottery.

A native of Randolph County, Senator Craven serves as the Senior Vice President at Fidelity Bank focusing on business development. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he was elected Student Body President and served on the Board of Trustees. He graduated with degrees in Accounting, Finance, and Political Science. As an active member of his community and state, Senator Craven was appointed to the board of directors for the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina in 2016 by the Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives.
