BioBill Hayes grew up in Caldwell, Ohio (Noble County, Southeastern Ohio) and was the youngest of three sons. Bill and his wife, Carolyn, have lived in Southwestern Licking County for more than 35 years where they have raised their three now grown children, Scott, Sallie and Dan. They have six (6) grandchildren.Bill received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Capital University, Master of Arts from The Ohio State University and Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School. Bill's work experiences include, in part, being a high school teacher and coach, positions in industrial management and information systems development, attorney, court magistrate, city law director, and owner of a small business. For over 30 years Bill has represented people as an attorney. He and his wife, Carolyn, raised and educated their three kids in the district & believe in community involvement. His experience as a high school teacher and coach, school board member, court magistrate, city law director and small business owner give him unique qualifications to serve as a representative of the people. Bill is also an active member and Elder in his local church. Bill has the willingness, skill and desire to tackle the difficult issues facing the 91st District and Ohio. Bill's community and civic service include organizations such as Heartbeats of Licking County, The Crisis Center, West Licking Historical Society, Southwest Licking and Reynoldsburg School Boards, Pataskala Area Chamber of Commerce, Christian Legal Society and Tri Village Christian Church. He also belongs to the NRA and Farm Bureau. Bill credits his work ethic and interest in public service to the influence of family, including his father, Chester, who owned and operated a Sunoco service station for more than 30 years, served as treasurer of his church for over 40 years and was elected County Auditor in Noble County; his mother, Faye, who was a hard working homemaker, community volunteer and church worker; and his cousin, Woody, who coached at Ohio State and believed "you win with people". This year Bill will celebrate practicing law for 32 years in the Pataskala area where he and four other attorneys in the firm, two of whom are his sons, Scott and Dan, serve the community.
