Bio

Donna Givens is a Baldwin County native and a graduate of Robertsdale High School and the University of Mobile.

She began her 47-year-career with Baldwin Electric Membership Corporation as a part-time employee at a drive-up service window. In January of 2021, she retired as the corporation's Senior Governmental, Economic Development and Community Services Administrator to shift her focus to public service full-time.

Over the years Givens became ingrained in the Baldwin Business Community and was the first woman to chair the North Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. She has also served on the boards of the South Baldwin Chamber, Eastern Shore Chamber, Baldwin County Sheriff's Personnel Board, Board of Adjustment Planning and Zoning Commission, Coastal Alabama Partnership, Gulf United Metro Business Organization (GUMBO), Baldwin CountyCoroner'sCommittee, HATCH Fairhope, two terms on the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance Foundation and served as chairman of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce.

In the local community Givens serves on the board of trustees for South Baldwin Regional Medical Center andMobile Bay NEP. In the past shehas served on the board of directors for the United Way of Baldwin County, Baldwin County Emergency Food and Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, and served as a past chairman of both the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross.

Givens has served on several statewide committees, having been appointed to the USS Alabama Battleship Commission by Gov. Bob Riley and the Gulf State Park Planning Committee by Gov.

Robert Bentley.

Givens has been recognized for her service and is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including-Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce "Woman of the Year" (2014); Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce " Good Government Award" (2021); Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance Leadership Award for 20 years of service (2015); Jack Jenkins Service Award from Alabama Rural Electric Association (2016); Rotary International's Paul Harris Fellow Award as a member of the Robertsdale Rotary Club; and is a graduate of the Leadership Baldwin County Program.

Married to her husband Alton for over 30 years, the pair reside in Loxley and are members of Loxley First Baptist Church. They enjoy spending time with their four children and seven grandchildren.

Givens represents residents of District 64, which encompasses Bay Minette, Pine Grove, Rosinton, Belforest, Loxley, Robertsdale, Silverhill, Foley, Elberta, Stapleton, and Summerdale.
