Bio

Matt Reeves is running as a Republican for new, open Georgia House District 99 in 2022. Parts of Suwanee, Sugar Hill and Duluth in Gwinnett County comprise District 99. Matt has lived in Gwinnett County and practiced business and real estate law at Andersen, Tate & Carr, the largest full-service law firm in the area, for nearly two decades. His wife Suzette and three school-age children are active members of Perimeter Church, and his mother-in-law, a retired educator, also lives in the area. Matt graduated with honors from UGA Law School, Mercer University, and The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, and has served the community for nearly 20 years in numerous local philanthropic, civic and small business organizations. He believes in the value of Live-Work-Play communities, and served on his local Parks & Recreation Board for 5 years.

Matt Reeves is uniquely qualified to serve in the Georgia House based on his experience as Legal Counsel to Chairman Wendell Willard of the House Judiciary Committee in 2008 and his service on the Evidence Code Commission after that. Matt got a front-row seat to the creation and implementation of several new cities in the Atlanta suburbs, and will be a strong supporter of the three cities in District 99.

Matt also believes that adults need good jobs and children need loving parents and families. He will work to keep Georgia #1 in job growth while the workforce recovers from the pandemic, make sure that our schools serve children's educational needs and encourage parental involvement, support law enforcement, first responders, and military service members and veterans, promote adoption and foster care, fight gangs and human trafficking, continue criminal justice reform, and keep Georgia leading on electric vehicles and other technology that serves customers while protecting the environment. Matt believes that work, education, family, faith, freedom, local city elected officials, small business, health insurance, taxpayers and other private and nonprofit initiatives are the real solutions to the problems we face in 2022 - not more big government.
