Bio

Hi, I'm State Representative Jay Jordan. I'm a husband to an incredible wife, a father to three wonderful children, a small business owner, a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.

I was born here, went to school here, built my business here, and raised my family here. I'm serving as your State Representative to help write the next chapter for Florence - a place where my children and your children want to grow up, work, and raise their families.

"So that our kids want to raise their own children here where they grew up." Keeping Communities Safe Jay Jordan stands with the law enforcement officers who work every day to keep our streets safe and protect South Carolina families. Jay believes we need law and order in our society, now, more than ever, and is committed to giving police officers the resources and training they need to keep our community secure.

Helping Small Business Owners and Job Creators Jay Jordan worked tirelessly to reduce red tape for our small businesses. Jay was instrumental in passing much-needed reform to South Carolina's business licensing tax structure. Making it easier than ever for businesses to consolidate all their business filings and taxes into one easy-to-use portal. Jay has also helped small business owners save time and money by helping South Carolina reduce the paperwork and fees it takes to create jobs. Jay knows the work is not done and will continue the fight to support our small business owners.

Improving Education Jay Jordan has led the successful effort to increase funding for our schools by putting money right into the classrooms. Jay has worked to reduce the number of standardized tests required by state law, helped raise teacher pay, and has expanded access to School Resource Officers and mental health counselors.

Advancing Conservative Ideals Jay has served in the House of Representatives for our area since 2015. He's always stood for conservative values since day one, and advocated for improved transparency in government. Because of Jay's deep and longstanding public integrity, he was appointed to Chairman of the SC House Ethics Committee. Read The Article > Keeping Communities Safe As a State Representative, Jay has built a reputation for supporting law enforcement and first responders. He voted to raise pay for law enforcement officers and has been endorsed by our Florence County Sheriff, T.J. Joye. Jay believes we need law and order in our society, now, more than ever, and is committed to giving police officers the resources and training they need to keep our community safe.

Protecting The Unborn Jay was a co-sponsor of the Heartbeat Bill - which then went on to be passed into law by our government. It outlaws abortions in SC once a fetal heartbeat is detected in the womb. Protecting the right to life is essential to Jay's personal beliefs, and therefore integral to the very policies he fights for in the House of Representatives.

Preventing Federal Overreach Jay has taken a stand against federal government overreach during recent attempts at vaccination mandates. Jay believes no one in South Carolina should be forced to fear losing their job over vaccination status, personal convictions, or religious beliefs.

Caring For Veterans Jay is a staunch supporter of our veterans. He helped lead a successful initiative to provide retired veterans who live in South Carolina with a state income tax break for their military service to our country. Jay also voted to fund a new veterans nursing home right here in Florence, SC.

Driving Local Business Jay works tirelessly to reduce red tape for small business owners and job creators in our community.
