BioA native West Texan, Tryon Lewis was born in Kermit, and grew up in Odessa. He attended Odessa College, UT Austin and Baylor Law School before returning to Odessa to practice law starting in 1973. Representative Lewis took the bench as the 161st State District Judge in 1985 and served until his retirement in 2006. Returning to private practice, he is a partner in the Odessa Law Firm of Atkins, Hollman, Jones, Peacock, Lewis and Lyon. Judge Lewis believes in serving his community and has been on the Boards of many organizations, from Meals on wheels to the ECISD Education Foundation, the Permian Playhouse, Odessa Cultural Council and more. He is a former Chairman of the Ector County Republican Party and a former President of the Republican Men's Club. Tryon and his wife, Trudy, have two daughters, Eleanor and Annie.
