Bio

Representative Tom Larson represents the 67th Assembly District, which consists of a large part of Chippewa and Dunn Counties, and three townships in Barron County.

Representative Larson was raised on a dairy farm near Colfax, WI, where he attended high school. Upon graduation in 1966, Representative Larson held several jobs, most in the construction industry. In 1978, he began employment with Uniroyal Tire Company in Eau Claire, where he learned the electrical trade.

In 1991, Uniroyal informed its employees that they were closing the plant, and Representative Larson decided to venture out and start his own electrical contracting business, Bear Valley Electric. The business continues its operations today, and Representative Larson’s two sons will be taking over the business as he begins his work in Madison.

After winning a six way Republican primary, Tom was elected in November 2010 to represent Wisconsin’s 67th district in the State Assembly. For the 2011-2012 legislative session, Representative Larson serves on the following committees- Judiciary and Ethics (Vice-Chair), Rural Economic Development and Rural Affairs, and Energy and Utilities.

Tom and his wife, Mary, live in Colfax, WI.
