Bio

Tammy Baldwin was elected to the U.S. Senate after serving seven terms representing Wisconsin’s Second Congressional District in the House of Representatives.

Throughout Baldwin’s career in public service she has made it her priority to fight for fairness and grow the middle class. In the U.S Senate, Baldwin is focused on strengthening the economic security of the middle class and moving our economy forward for small businesses, manufacturers, and Wisconsin families.

In the 113th Congress, Baldwin serves on the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP), the Senate Budget Committee, and the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. She also serves on the Senate Special Committee on Aging.

Baldwin was born on February 11, 1962. She received an A.B. degree from Smith College in in 1984 with majors in government and mathematics and in 1989, earned her J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School.
