Bio

Josh McKoon, Republican Senator from Columbus was first elected to the state Senate in 2010 for the 2011-2012 legislative term. Senator McKoon serves as chairman of the Judiciary Committee, vice-chairman of the Higher Education Commit-tee, and secretary of the Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee. He is also a member of the Ethics, Insurance and Labor and Judiciary Non-Civil Committees.

Senator McKoon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Furman University in 2001 and a Juris Doc-torate from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2003. Senator McKoon currently works as an attorney for Crowley/McKoon.

Senator McKoon serves on the board of directors for the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, the Muscogee County Juvenile Drug Court, Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Greater Co-lumbus, and the Urban League of Greater Colum-bus. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Columbus, the State Bar of Georgia, the Alabama State Bar, and the Knights of Columbus Council #1019 at St. Anne Church, where he regularly at-tends services.
