BioDrew Darby was elected to the Texas House of Representatives in 2006 to serve the people of House District 72. He is a native of San Angelo, Texas and attended San Angelo public schools. Representative Darby attended the University of Texas and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting. He earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas in 1971 and is a graduate of Emerging Political Leaders Program at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. During the interim, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus named Representative Darby chair of the Subcommittee on Funding for the Select Committee on Transportation Funding to seek fiscally sound transportation policy that will meet the infrastructure and mobility challenges of Texas. Drew and his wife, Clarisa, have been married for twenty-five years and have five children and two grandchildren. As a successful businessman, Drew is the founder of Drew Darby and Associates Law Firm, and owner of Surety Title Company, Inc. with six offices serving eleven counties.
