EDUCATION Kowall attended Wayne State University from 1970 to 1972; the University of Detroit from 1972 to 1974, where she obtained an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. She is also a graduate of the Michigan Excellence in Public Service series. She is a 2010 fellow of The Council of State Governments' Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development (BILLD), a training program that identifies and assists promising state leaders.

PROFESSIONAL She practiced in the field of Dental Hygiene from 1974 to 1989. She is former part-owner of Accurate Woodworking, Inc. in Waterford and was actively involved as a designer/sales representative from 1989 until 2004.

PAST PUBLIC OFFICES AND AFFILIATIONS Kowall served on the Oakland County Board of Commissioners for six years and was Chair of the Republican Caucus for four of those years. She also served as vice-Chair of the Finance Committee and was a member of the criminal justice coordinating council. She also served as Chair of the 11th Congressional Republican Committee and has also served on the State Republican Committee. Additionally, she served on the Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency (OLSHA) Member-Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Kowall has also been involved with the following organizations- Citizens Alliance for Life & Liberty, Pontiac/Waterford Lodge #810 B.P.O. Elks, Huron Valley Optimists Club, Oakland County Republican Executive Committee, Waterford and White Lake Historical Societies, National Rifle Association and Michigan Coalition of Responsible Gun Owners.

PERSONAL Eileen Kowall has been married to Michael Kowall for 39 years. They have two children- Marissa and her husband Tom, and Stephanie. She has two grandchildren Madeline and Colin.
