BioSenator Mary Hodge has hands-on knowledge of education and small business issues. These experiences and her rural background have taught her the importance of patience, hard work, dedication, and cooperation. These traits have served her well during her twelve years in the General Assembly; 8 years as the State Representative from House District 30 and 4 as the Senator from District 25. This year, she started her second term as the Senator serving Senate District 25.Senator Hodge has concentrated on issues concerning agriculture, water, education and business. She and her husband, Dick, own and operate a small business, and she has worked for Fortune 500 companies. In 2012, she served as Vice Chair of the Joint Budget Committee, Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, and as a member of the Legislative Council and Water Resources Review Committees. She was elected Chair of the Joint Budget Committee in 2011. She now serves as Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee and as a member of the Joint Budget Committee.
