BioA teacher, scientist, leader and longtime Fort Collins resident, Joann Ginal is the representative in House District 52, which includes eastern and central Fort Collins and parts of unincorporated Larimer County.Rep. Ginal is a master naturalist for the City of Fort Collins, and cares deeply about preserving the special places that make Colorado a nationally-recognized place to retire, buy a home, start a business or receive an education. She has worked in the biological and medical fields for more than 20 years as a scientist with a focus in pharmacology, in research and most recently as a medical science liaison in medical affairs. Rep. Ginal was raised in a working-class family. Her father was a police officer for more than 25 years. Her mother stayed at home, raising three children, and was a dedicated community volunteer. Her parents taught her the values of honesty, hard work, and the importance of giving back. Rep. Ginal earned a B.S. in biology from the University of New Hampshire, a master’s degree in zoology from Iowa State University and a doctorate in reproductive endocrinology from Colorado State University. Rep. Ginal is dedicated to helping Colorado families get good-paying jobs and improve Colorado’s economy through investments in renewable energy, biotech, aerospace and information technology. And she understands that a good public education system is a vital component of a strong economy.
