Bio

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman represents the state of Wyoming in the U.S. House of Representatives. She attended Casper College on a livestock judging scholarship and earned both her bachelor's degree (1986) and law degree (1989) from the University of Wyoming. A litigator for 34 years, Harriet opened her own law firm in August 2000. She is nationally known for challenging federal overreach, for protecting water rights and users, for exposing federal land and wildlife mismanagement, for protecting private property rights, and for fighting back against the unconstitutional and unlawful acts of unelected bureaucrats. She intends to focus her efforts in Congress on ensuring that it is the Legislative Branch - and only the Legislative Branch - that passes legislation, thereby limiting the Executive Branch to its rightful role of carrying out the law as intended by our Founders. Harriet has dedicated much of her career to fighting for and protecting the constitutional rights of the citizens of Wyoming and elsewhere. Harriet has extensive experience engaging in complex discovery and trials against federal agencies. She is licensed to practice law in Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, the District of Columbia, and has been admitted before the United States Supreme Court.
