Bio

Margaret Ransone is a lifelong resident of Westmoreland County, where she lives with her husband and two children. She worked at the family business, Bevans Oyster Company, and is descended from generations of watermen.

Margaret is a conservative Republican who will fight for liberty, our Virginia and U.S. Constitutions, and the rights of individuals and the states.

As a small businesswoman, Margaret understands that free enterprise is the key to creating jobs and improving our economy on the Northern Neck. She will work hard to help state government create a business-friendly climate and defend the Right-to-Work laws. She will work for energy independence, and to lift the ban on drilling off of Virginia's coast.

As a business woman, Margaret not only maintained her business, but she expanded her business into aquaculture. Margaret took the lead on research and development into her industry, and ten years later, the oyster industry in the Northern Neck has been revived from near extinction, and the bay is healthier for it. This has led to a complete revival of the oyster industry; as a result, the industry has created jobs, capital, and expanded our economy here in our community.

Margaret has traveled to Richmond and Washington with other business leaders in our community, to advocate for conservative pro-jobs, pro-growth policies coming out of the legislature. She also went to Richmond to stop policies coming out of the legislature that she knew would hurt our community.

Margaret knows business in the Northern Neck. Further, she know the steps necessary to expand business in the Northern Neck.

Margaret is no newcomer to public service. She has spent her life working hard to improve our Northern Neck communities, our economy, and our business climate. Margaret volunteered at Cople Elementary School, and the Westmoreland County Sponsors for Success program (1998-Present). She still teaches Sunday School at Carmel Methodist Church.

Margaret serves on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Seafood Council where she worked to ensure the continued development of commercial seafood. She also served on the Virginia Marine Products Board and has promoted the industries crucial to our community.

Margaret is a conservative Republican through and through. Margaret is Pro-Life, Pro-Family, and Pro-Second Amendment. She has worked on the state and federal level defending small businesses in her district for over a decade. She has been a strong supporter and advocate for Republican Congressional Candidates and Republican State Candidates that now hold office.
