Bio

State Representative Theresa Abed is serving her first term representing Michigan’s 71st House District, which includes Eaton County.

Abed has served Eaton County for more than 30 years as a school social worker, including 16 years in the Grand Ledge Public Schools. She also worked as an outpatient therapist in the Family Counseling Center at St. Vincent Catholic Charity in Lansing. Abed served two terms on the Eaton County Commission from 2007 to 2010. She has a master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University.

Abed lives in Grand Ledge. She has two adult children- David, age 27, and Kimberly, age 24
