BioSenator Lindsey Tippins was first elected to the Georgia State Senate in 2010. He represents Senate District 37, lo-cated in Northwest Cobb County.He serves as Chairman of the Education and Youth Commit-tee and sits on the Appropriations, Judiciary, and Transpor-tation committees. Sen. Tippins previously served for 12 years on the Cobb Board of Education during which he served as chairman for three years. He is the past president of the Georgia Utility Contractor Association and the North Georgia State Fair and has served as a long time board member of both organiza-tions. Sen. Tippins is a board member of the Calvary Chil-dren’s Home, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (Atlanta Metro region), and was appointed by Governor Perdue to serve on the Georgia Student Finance Commission. He is the owner and founder of Tippins Contracting Compa-ny, Inc., a pipeline construction company, which has been in business since 1969. Sen. Tippins received his Bachelor of Business Administra-tion from Kennesaw Junior College and Georgia State Uni-versity, and he received his Juris Doctorate from Woodrow Wilson College of Law. He has been happily married to the former Ann Scott for 43 years. They have two children, Nathan and Rebekah, and have six lovely grandchildren. January 2013—Senate Press Office
