BioSenator Jeff Danielson was elected in 2008 to his second term in the Iowa State Senate. His district includes Hudson, Cedar Falls and Waterloo in Black Hawk County, where he continues his career as a professional firefighter with the City of Cedar Falls. Senator Danielson is Senate President Pro Tem and chair of the State Government Committee, vice-chair of the Veterans Affairs Committee, and vice-chair of the Administration & Regulation Budget. He serves on the Appropriations, Economic Growth, Rules & Administration, and Transportation committees. Jeff is a graduate of Hawkeye Community College. He earned his undergraduate degree in Public Administration (summa cum laude) from the University of Northern Iowa and his Master's of Public Policy from UNI as well. Jeff's community leadership and volunteer experience includes being a former Iowa Department of Transportation commissioner and Waterloo Planning and Zoning Commissioner. He is a board member of the Black Hawk Economic Development, Inc. and the UNI Leadership Advisory Board. His professional memberships include the American Council of Young Political Leaders and the Democratic Leadership Council. A Navy veteran, Jeff served from 1988 to 1994. He is married to Kim and has two beautiful children, Brendan and Erin.
