Biography - Elected to Nebraska Legislature- 2006; re-elected 2010. Born Feb. 7, 1942, in Harnett County, N.C. Education- Graduate of University of Tennessee (B.S. in political science), 1968, and (M.A. in political science) 1971; Tulane University (Ph.D. in political science), 1975. Family- Married Ann Harrell, May 20, 1989; three children- Kevin, Amanda and Alex. Occupation- Professor emeritus, University of Nebraska-Lincoln; international trade consultant. Former- circulation promotions manager, Knoxville News Sentinel, Knoxville, TN; political science instructor, Tulane University. Military Service- U.S. Air Force, Strategic Air Command. Member- First Plymouth Congregational Church; American Academy of Political Science; International Studies Association, international political economy section; Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.
