BioRepresentative Craig Ford was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 2000. He is a native of Gadsden, Alabama.His wife, Gwen Glover, is a teacher at Gadsden State Community College. They have two children- Jon Craig and Wells Elizabeth. He received his B.S. Degree in Marketing from Auburn University. He is the owner of Hodges-Ford Insurance Agency. He is also the owner of The Messenger newspaper. Representative Ford was a Captain in the United States Army Reserves. He is a board member Breakaway Ministries, and is a member of First United Methodist Church of Gadsden. He is also a coach for Little League Baseball. Representative Ford received the Most Outstanding Legislator Award in 2006, Darden Rehabilitation Person of the Year in 2003, Friend of Labor Award in 2007, and was inducted into the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame in 2006. In addition to his House Standing Committee assignments, Representative Ford is also a member of the Energy Council, Children and Youth Committee, Motor Vehicle License Plate Committee, NCSC Financial Service Committee, National Conference of Legislators from Gaming States, Alabama Insurance Department of Consumer Loans, Agriculture Development Authority Committee, and is an associate member of the Alabama Retired Teachers Association.
