Bio

At 23, Adam Brown was the youngest person ever elected to the Decatur City Council. Running a positive campaign of reform, Adam took to the streets and talked with thousands of voters about their ideas, problems, and hopes for the future. Voters were impressed by Adam’s fiscal conservative, results oriented approach to government, and agreed with his bold ideas for making government more account...able, transparent, and efficient. In his tenure on the City Council, Adam has worked to advance a pro-jobs agenda and has earned a reputation as a responsible steward of taxpayer money.

Adam is ready to take the fight to Springfield. At the urging of supporters - Democrats and Republicans alike - and with the blessing of his friends and family, Adam announced his campaign for State Representative of Illinois' 101st District, which covers most of Macon, Moultrie, and Shelby Counties.

After decades of failed economic policies, Illinois has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country and ranks 48th among the 50 states in job creation and economic performance. In the last year alone, Illinois has lost over 237,000 jobs. With a budget deficit of $13 billion, Illinois is facing the very real threat of bankruptcy, if we allow Springfield politicians to continue down the path of financial instability. With one governor in prison and another on the way, Illinois has become the laughing stock of the country.

To change Springfield and make state government work for us again, we need to clean house. People across the state recognize that we need new leadership. The same people who got us into this mess cannot be relied on to get us out. The status quo simply cannot continue.

On the Decatur City Council, Adam has shown that he's not afraid to take on entrenched interests. Recognized by the Illinois Jaycees with The Outstanding Young Person's Award for exemplary government service, Adam has been lauded for his accomplishments and dedication to service. A lifelong resident of Macon County, a graduate of Richland Community College and the University of Illinois, Adam cares deeply about the state and refuses to stand idly by as Illinois races to the bottom. Enough is enough.
