Statehouse phone number- 1(800) 382-9841. Representative Hal Slager is a member of the 118th General Assembly freshman class. In 1981, Rep. Slager graduated from Butler University and became a Certified Public Accountant. As a CPA he worked for a local accounting firm. His role there helped him gain the experience needed for his next opportunity, a position in corporate acounting with Melvin Simon and Associates. Rep. Slager joined Trico Graphics in 1983. Upon arrival he sought to bring innovations and advancements to the company, eventually leading to a transition to electronic publishing. In 1996, Rep. Slager established the company as an exemplary business for design an internet prodution. Rep. Slager went on to establish Triangle Equities LLC, for real estate development and management in 1997. Rep. Slager served 10 years on the Shererville Town Council, twice a Council president and twice Utility Board president. As a State Representative he brings with him the experience of running local government during the national economic downturn. He worked to keep his community strong by reducing the govenrment budget to meet the frozen levy, while increasing services and resolving flood issues. Rep. Slager and his wife, Carol, have been married for 30 years and have two sons, Ryan and Collin. Slager is a runner and former marathoner, including the Boston Marathon twice. Rep. Slager is a member of the Calumet Region Striders, a local running club of 500 members, and has led three fundraising campaigns running for the Leukemia Society of America.
