Senator Balderson graduated from Zanesville High School and attended Muskingum College and The Ohio State University. He is co-owner of Balderson Motor Sales, a three-generation family business, and assists in the operation of a family-owned farm in Salem Township.

Senator Balderson remains active in numerous community organizations, including the Genesis Health Care Advisory Board, the Muskingum County Salvation Army Board, the Charity Newsies, Kiwanis, the Cattleman’s Association, the Muskingum County Farm Bureau and the National Rifle Association. He is a member of the Muskingum County Business Incubator Board and the Ohio Township Association. He also serves as an elder at First Christian Church and is the co-founder of Appalachia Outdoor Adventures, and is a vice-chairman of the Ohio Sportsman’s Caucus.
