Brandon is a dedicated and thoughtful leader in our community. He has served our city and state in a number of capacities. He currently serves on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Housing Advisory Board, which works to end and prevent homelessness and recently served as president of the board for the Council for Children's Rights, which advocates on behalf of children in the Charlotte area. In addition, Brandon chaired the city of Charlotte's Disparity Study Advisory Committee, helping to revise the city's small business program, and he led an initiative to convene conversations around issues of access and equity during the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Brandon's leadership and service has been recognized with the North Carolina Bar Association Citizen Lawyer Award, the Charlotte Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award, the Charlotte Chamber's Young Professionals Business Leader for small to midsized companies and Uptown Charlotte Magazine Community Catalyst Award. Brandon has also had the honor of delivering the 2016 commencement address for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Political Science Department.

Brandon is the product of our state's public school system and the son of a public school teacher. He credits his mother's interventions and the quality education he received in public schools as life-changing influences. Today, he and his wife Kellie work hard to support their sons, Caleb (9) and Brandon II (11), in their education. Brandon actively volunteers at his sons' elementary school, serving on the school leadership team and coaching the school chess team.

Brandon attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated with highest honors and met his wife, Kellie. He earned his law degree from New York University School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar and a Dean's Scholar.

Brandon is a partner with the law firm Robinson Bradshaw, where he focuses his practice in the area of public finance. He advises and represents cities, counties, hospitals, universities and nonprofits financing capital improvements that benefit the public. He began his legal career practicing with the civil rights law firm Ferguson Stein Chambers.

Brandon and his wife, Kellie, enjoy traveling and being outdoors with Caleb, Brandon II and their dog, Halley.
