Bio

Rep. Les "Skip" Carnine of Rogers is serving his third term in the Arkansas House of Representatives. He represents District 90, which encompasses part of Benton County.

For the 89th General Assembly, Rep. Carnine serves on the Education Committee, Insurance and Commerce Committee, and Joint Budget Committee.

During the 88th General Assembly, Rep. Carnine served as chair of the Joint Committee for Public Retirement and Social Security Programs. He was also a member of the Arkansas Legislative Council; the House Education Committee; and the House Insurance and Commerce Committee. For the 87th General Assembly, Rep. Carnine served on the House Education Committee; the Joint Committee for Public Retirement and Social Security Programs; and the House Committee for City, County and Local Affairs.

Rep. Carnine graduated from Storm Lake High School, and he earned a bachelor's degree from Buena Vista University. He went on to earn a master's degree from Central Missouri State University, and a doctorate in education from the University of Arkansas.

Rep. Carnine is a retired educator and a former Arkansas Superintendent of the Year. He is a former trustee for the Northwest Arkansas Community College and a member of the Rotary Club. He enjoys reading and playing golf in is spare time. Rep. Carnine and his wife, Linda, attend the Presbyterian church. They have two grown children and 6 grandchildren.
