Bio

With family roots dating to the 1840’s, Bruce was born and raised in Monroe, Georgia. He

attended Furman University where he received a football scholarship and played ball for four

years graduating with a B.A. in Business Administration. He then attended graduate school at the

University of Georgia where he studied Risk Management and Insurance.

As owner of Williamson Insurance, co-founder of Walton Bank and Trust Company and Liberty

First Bank of Monroe, Bruce has a proven record as a successful businessman in Walton County.

He has shown his dedication to his community through work with Boy Scouts, Healing Angels

Medical Clinic, The Rotary Club, and the Walton County Chamber of Commerce. Bruce has

shown his dedication to Georgia through Leadership Georgia as a past Chairman and recipient of

the Frederic Kerr Award, service on GA Department of Community Affairs board where he has

helped both the City of Monroe and the City of Social Circle get approved as Job Opportunity

Zones, and involvement with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Recently, he was recognized

for helping to recruit the newest business to the Walton Industrial Park which will offer 40 new

Walton County jobs.

A committed family man, Bruce and his wife Vickie have been married for 27 years and have

four sons- Hugh, John, James and Lee. Three sons are Eagle Scouts and Lee aspires to be.

Bruce is a man of faith and is an active member of First United Methodist Church, where Bruce

taught Youth Sunday School for more than a decade.
