For 39 years, Nicholson has used a hands-on approach to making her community the best place to live, work, and raise a family. Her priorities include strengthening our economy and getting our citizens back to work, providing access to health care, protecting the quality of our environment, and fighting for our families in these tough economic times.

She serves as Chair of the Senate Local Government Committee, and as a member of the Health and Human Services and Legislative Council committees. She also represents the Senate on the Gaming Impact Committee, Statewide Internet Portal Authority Board, the Energy Council, and the Legislative oversight committee for the Health Exchange.
