Prior to joining the Ohio Senate, Beagle served as a member of Tipp City Council, where he served as council president and worked with his fellow council members on building a new water plant and investing in the downtown area as well as local parks to encourage economic development. He also served as a member of the Tipp-Monroe Community Services Board, the Tipp City Power Plant Reuse Committee, the Tipp City Planning Board and the Tipp City Public Library Board of Trustees. He also worked for several years in the banking and finance industry.

In addition to his chairmanship, Senator Beagle also serves as a member of the Senate Education, Insurance & Financial Institutions, and Ways and Means Committees as well as the Finance Subcommittee on Education.

In addition to his legislative duties and operating his own small business, Beagle created a group focusing on the needs of stay-at-home dads in the Dayton area. This venture was profiled in both local and national media.

Senator Beagle received his bachelor's degree in finance from Miami University and earned an MBA from Cleveland State University. He and his wife Karen live in Tipp City with their three children.
