Course Description

Administrators will be provided guidance and strategies for supporting teachers new to the profession (5 years or less experience). Annette Breaux will lead administrators through practical, common-sense strategies that will encourage positive teacher-administrator relationships and promote the development and the retention of beginning teachers.

Annette Breaux is a former classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, and teacher induction coordinator, Annette also developed the FIRST Program, an induction program for new teachers hailed as one of the best in the country. The program was adopted as Louisiana’s statewide model.

Annette has co-authored books with both Harry Wong and Todd Whitaker. Her expertise is in student achievement, classroom management, and new teacher induction. Her books include “101 Answers for New Teachers and Their Mentors,” “REAL Teachers, REAL Challenges, REAL Solutions,” “101 Poems for Teachers,” “Seven Simple Secrets: What the BEST Teachers Know and Do,” “50 Ways to Improve Student Behavior,” and “Making Good Teaching GREAT.”
