Course Description

Leading FIP for Student Success is designed for school and district leaders who will be supporting the use of formative instructional practices in their school or district. Through module completion, leaders will be able to affect change by helping teachers.  Oconee RESA will faciliate a professional learning team experience to build capacity and use of these FIP strategies in the classroom.   

              -Use clear learning targets;
              -Collect and document evidence of learning:
              -Analyze evidence and provide effective feedback; and 
              -Involve students in taking ownwership of their learning. 

This learning path consists of six modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Formative Instructional Practices (2 hours)
Module 2: Clear Learning Targets (2 hours)
Module 3: Collecting and Documenting Evidence of Learning (2 hours)
Module 4: Analyzing Data and Providing Effective Feedback (2 hours)
Module 5: Student Ownership of Learning (3 hours)
Module 6: Leading Formative Instructional Practices (3 hours)

Class Notes

Date(s):   July 24, 2014 and second date to be decided based on participants'  scheduled 9-12 noon each day (Online modules  will be completed independently prior to these meeting dates)

Location:  To be  decided based on participants registered

Cost:        No fee; program is  funded by GaDOE

PLU's:       1 PLU will be awarded for completion for all  modules and PLC sessions

Registration Policy
Registration for courses must be received prior to the registration deadline. Your registration status will remain pending until we have received approval from your system Professional Learning Coordinator and registration fee. The registration fee must be submitted immediately. 

If you choose PERSONAL PAY as your payment method, you must submit a money order or cashier's check to pay for this class prior to the first day of class.

If you choose DISTRICT/SYSTEM PAY as your payment method, the district must submit a system check to pay for the class. Please make payable to Oconee RESA and send to address below.

Withdrawal/Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation for any course must be received prior to the registration deadline. Registration fees are refundable only if cancellation is received before the registration deadline. Withdrawals/Cancellations received after the registration deadline will not be accepted and fees will not be refundable.
