Paraprofessionals are often asked to help support students with disabilities. Students with disabilities are unique learners that require specialized instruction, accommodations and modifications to be able to access the general curriculum. Support for students with disabilities may be provided in different settings including the general education classroom, in a separate classroom, in large group, in small group, or one to one situations. This training will provide special education paraprofessionals training on federal and state legislation, characteristics of students with disabilities and the roles and responsibilities of the paraprofessional in the education of students with disabilities.

2. I can understand and classify the disability categories into high incidence and low incidence disabilities.
