Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) has a longstanding tradition as an educational leader across the state. Resources include locally produced content, broadcast programming, professional development, and digital education resources across all subject areas through our partnerships with Discovery Education and PBS LearningMedia. In this session, participants will walk away with assessment and instructional strategies utilizing digital resources that will engage students and improve learning outcomes in social studies education.Educators will not only learn how to use GPB’s free resources, but will also becme famiiar with our partner sites PBS Learning Media and Discovery Education. Content Participants will navigate and explore GPB’s Georgia Studies digital textbook, student and teacher editions, as well as its associated virtual field trips. Participants will also integrate the civics video series On
the Campaign Trail, will utilize social media connections with GPB, and
will look into instructional strategies for technology in the classroom. PBS Learning
Media/Discovery EducationParticipants will investigate
partner websites that include the aggregation of themed resources, will
integrate that content through suggested instructional strategies, will build
assignments and utilize assessments, and much more.
